Our highly academic middle school curriculum enables our students to be well prepared for high school. Graduates are consistently accepted into high school magnet programs and honors classes throughout the county. Students in our advanced math program are able to receive high school credit for coursework taken at First Lutheran. Our language arts curriculum features a strong emphasis on grammar and writing skills that prepare students for continued success in high school and into college. Completing our curriculum is instruction in social studies, science, Spanish, religion, and computers. Middle school students also have the opportunity to participate in drama, choir and handbell choir. Along with high academic expectations, First Lutheran maintains high standards for student behavior. Preparing our students to be respectful, responsible citizens that reflect the light of God’s love out in the “real world” is an important goal of the staff at First Lutheran School. To encourage this First Lutheran recognizes two special students at graduation. Our Flame Award recognizes the student with high academics and outstanding behavior, a true representative of what a First Lutheran student should be. Our Barnabas Award recognizes the servant leader of the class. At First Lutheran we are very proud of the young men and women who graduate from our program.
