Outreach
For the past few years we've been sending teams down to Central America in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Builds. The primary purpose is to construct safe decent housing for families living in conditions of extreme poverty. The trip changes lives. First of all (and most importantly) it changes the lives of those who receive the houses. In many instances just the health benefits add as much as 20 years of life to every member of the household. But it also changes the lives of the team members.
The length of the trip - The 2013 trip was Janaury 5-13th.
The cost of the trip - was $900 for Thrivent Benefit members and $1,200 for non-Thrivent team members (plus travel expenses). Thrivent members receive a $500 grant, making the trip still more affordable.
